Wine of the week: Pata Negra (Ribera del Duero)

Pata Negra is an award winning brand from the Spanish wine region, Ribera del Duero. The Ribera del Duero D.O. is located in the Duero River basin, in the southeast of Castilla and Leon. More than 240 wineries and 8,000 vine growers make up the Ribera del Duero today. Its more than 20,700 hectares of vines represent 20% of the total wine production in Spain. The Tempranillo is the main grape of the area and it is present in more than 75% of wines from Ribera del DueroPata Negra is made by García Carrión through the Winery Marqués de Carrión in Labastida (Álava).
